Foray is a creative home where artists can work on existing projects and explore new ones, while living in a creative community. Come and enjoy our artists' studios and peaceful, productive atmosphere. All artistic mediums are welcome.

Foray has welcomed painters, scriptwriters, musicians, dancers, digital artists, nomads and many more.

Micro-residencies take place all year round, giving you the opportunity to come and go as you please, according to your needs and availability, and enjoy a creative getaway. Located just 1h15 from Paris, Foray could be your new workshop just a train ride away.

Mixed media Retreats

April 2025 : Creation, exploration and collaboration around art mediums in the broadest sense. Open to the organization of experimental or restitution workshops and performances.

Music Retreats

June 2025 : Encounter, exploration and collaboration around sound creation. Possibility of a performance on Saturday June 15 during the Joie-Nid cabaret organized by Caserne Bascule.

Photography workshop

June 25th to 27th / August 1st to 3d : Push your visual language, deepen your conceptual thinking, and sharpen your editing, no matter the genre you practice. Hosted by Gabriel Goméz from conceptual and fashion photography, and Linda Zhengová from documentary and analogue intimacy

Photography Workshop Composed Encounters

3 days with Linda Zhengová and Gabriel Goméz at Domaine Foray, where you’ll explore what it means to make images with presence, intention, and depth. This workshop is for photographers who want to sharpen their eye, strengthen their voice, and reawaken their creative instincts.

Gabriel Goméz, from conceptual and fashion photography, will reflect on working across unfamiliar environments, navigating intuition, and improvisation in image-making.

Linda Zhengová, from documentary and analogue intimacy will dive on comfort zones, authenticity, and empathic engagement: how to stay open while making work that’s true to yourself.

Participants will take away a refined sense of their visual and conceptual language, feedbacks on your portfolio and next steps, new images made on location, a renewed connection to your creative process and fruitful honest conversations and hopefully new friends !

Most of our artistic retreats are not funded, so some costs are borne by the artist in residence to cover logistics (see below). However, we have worked out a virtuous system which, since 2025, has enabled us to offer residencies financed in part by our commercial bed & breakfast business, allowing us to offer greatly reduced logistical costs. We remain at the disposal of artists to provide advice and documentation to help them apply for a third-party grant or other type of funding for a residency, and we are open to organizing workshops / shows / events on site that could help the artist finance his or her stay at Foray.

The cost of a retreat depends on the program and the length of your stay - the longer the stay, the lower the daily cost. It also depends on your request/need for care.

Fees include access to all areas, accommodation, studios, use of the spacious and well-equipped communal kitchen, laundry, internet fiber, printer, breakfast and dinner (we suggest a free participation for the evening meal). Lunches are self-catered, unless otherwise requested, which will result in an adjustment to the residence fee.

Accommodation consists of a large room with double bed, wardrobe, desk, private bathroom with bath, washbasin and toilet. All our rooms are charming, comfortable and bright. They overlook either the garden or the Yonne valley.

Foray is equipped with recording, painting, woodworking and metalworking studios. All spaces can be used and adapted to accommodate the creation of art, music, video, writing, dance...
